Jundah State School is located in the Barcoo Shire in beautiful Channel Country, Central West Queensland.  Jundah SS services the community of Jundah and surrounding properties. It is a coeducational school and the total enrolment for 2026 is 14 students with students ranging from Kindy to Year 6.

The school implements a curriculum program for Kindy to Year 6 focussing on the Australian curriculum and Queensland Kindergarten curriculum guidelines, and includes Languages Other Than English (LOTE) - Japanese), Music (guitar) and Health and Physical Education. Our dedicated Teacher and Teaching Principal work hard to develop individual learning experiences for each of the students and endeavour to enhance their learning capabilities in every aspect of school life.

Jundah State School is part of two clusters of Small Schools; the first being the Barcoo Cluster which includes our neighbouring schools Stonehenge SS and Windorah SS.  The other cluster is The Outback Advantage which includes many small schools throughout western Queensland with the cluster collaborating, designing and implementing quality programs focussing on quality teaching and student outcomes in small school settings.

The student community consist of students whose interests are closely related to their environment. With varying strengths and interests, our motivated students inspire each other and are supported by the school community to aim and achieve highly in all aspects of their development.

Particular features of the school include two buildings - one is currently used as a classroom and office and the other as a Library and classroom/flexible learning space. There is a large undercover marked court area for a variety of sports and other covered play areas throughout the school grounds including sandpits and climbing frames.  The school has a large oval with AFL goalposts installed.  Swimming lessons are conducted at the local Shire pool nearby.  School camps are a feature at Jundah SS with Sir Wally Rae Sports Day, Barcoo Sports Day, Windorah Sports Camp, Bedourie Splash 'n Arts Camp, Jundah Science and Swimming Carnival featuring every year on the school calendar.  School trips to Snowy Mountains, Canberra and Sunshine Coast have also featured in recent years.  Year 6 students are also invited to attend a Leadership Camp in Brisbane.

Students and staff take great pride in our school an its welcoming environment.  Our attractive grounds are carefully maintained, supported by an efficient watering system that helps conserve precious water resources.  We are also excited about plans to re-establish our school orchard, creating opportunities for students to learn about sustainability, food production and caring for the land.  At Jundah State School, we honour our past while looking confidently toward the future, continuing to live our motto:  Strive to Succeed.
