Jundah State School was established in the year 1900 with approximately 50 students attending. The town was, in those days, a thriving, growing community with a population of around 300 including around 120 opal miners who, at the time, lived in the town.
Students and staff alike take pride in their school with a committed approach to ensuring the school is looking its best at all times. The recent tornados (18th January 2013) have done their worst and the school is once again looking a picture. The one exception would be our Sports Shed which has quite a lean.
The school is situated in a setting of truly beautiful gardens with tall gum trees and native plants with some exotic bouganvillea providing a splash of colour. A water saving watering system has enabled us to maintain and improve on existing garden beds whilst still reducing the consumption of water.
