Jundah State School is located in the Central Queensland Region and services the community of Jundah and adjacent properties. It is a coeducational school and the total enrolment for 2022 is 12 students with students ranging from Kindy to Year 6.
The community consists of the administration centre of the Barcoo Shire with most community members employed by the Council. The P&C Association are very active and there has been an increasing interest in School Support from community members.
The school offers a curriculum program ranging from Kindy to year 6 with a heavy focus on the Australian curriculum and Queensland Kindergarten curriculum guidelines. Student wellbeing is an integrated part of our curriculum along with Languages Other Than English (LOTE - Japanese) for all students, Health and Physical Education and Music. Students are the central focus of our planning, teaching and learning here at Jundah State School. Teachers work hard to develop an understanding of students learning needs and abilities to further enhance their learning capabilities.
Jundah State School is part of two clusters of Small Schools one named ‘The Outback Advantage’, which includes all small schools in the Longreach area and the 'Barcoo Cluster' a small cluster consisting of Jundah, and our neighbouring schools Stonehenge and Windorah. In both clusters we strive to collaboratively design and implement units to deliver quality programs with a deliberate focus on the practise of quality teaching.
The student community consist of students whose interests are closely related to their environment. Their abilities vary but they are all motivated with several showing a high level of academic ability.
Particular features of the school include two buildings one is currently used as a classroom and office and the other as a Library and flexible learning space. There a two covered play areas with climbing equipment and a large covered marked court for a variety of sports ie soccer, netball etc.
